Hollywood Baby Names

Seriously. What’s with the weird baby names these Hollywood stars are coming up with? Ashlee Simpson popped out her baby today and it’s a boy! Do you know what Ashlee and husband, Pete Wentz, named the baby? Bronx Mowgli Wentz! WTF?!?

Of course, let’s mention Nicole Kidman’s baby Sunday Rose. Kinda cute in an old-fashioned way but still cheesy. Jessica Alba’s Honor Marie or something.

There are beautiful names out there and they are choosing names that might put their kids in the mercy of bullies in the future. Tsk tsk tsk

Here is a list of other wacky baby names from Hollywood.

Sexiest Man Alive!

Hugh Jackman is the 2008 People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive. I will concede that he is indeed sexy and hot. But I would have expected this award to him back in his Wolverine days!

George Clooney, on the other hand, continues to be sexy and hot for me! And that guy on the inset… McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey! It would have been more logical to name McDreamy the sexiest man alive. His career is also red hot this year.

Just look at the dreamy eyes…

ABBA… Not!

This news is really funny. Apparently, those who already bought the ticket to the upcoming Manila ABBA Show at the PICC on November 21, 2008, tonight, is demanding a refund of their tickets. The reason? The performers coming are not really the ABBA but plain foreign performers who will be singing ABBA songs! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Twilight thoughts

Well, you obviously know by now how addicted I am to the Twilight saga and everything related to the books and the movie. So I can safely say I have read almost every press release about the movie, almost all the articles written about it and have views countless photos and videos related to the movie. I just noticed a few things that bother me:

  • The most glaring of the discrepancies between the upcoming movie (midnight!) and the book is that the character of Alice Cullen is not given that much importance in the upcoming movie! Have you noticed that when they introduce the cast of characters they often stop at Nikki Reed, the one playing Rosalie? Personally, I feel that of all the supporting characters, Alice is the most significant one. I just felt like they haven’t given that much importance to the character than they should. Ashley Greene is playing Alice Cullen in the movie.
  • The person they cast as Jacob Black doesn’t do him justice. Come on, compare Rob Pattinson and that guy playing Jacob. Then forget about the book. By looks alone, would you really still go for Team Jacob???
  • Kristen Stewart, the one playing Bella Swan, is always scowling and when she talks, she looks like she’s sarcastic all the time! I mean, seriously, it looks like she’s not happy about the movie at all!
  • People are expecting something big from the movie when we all know chances are, when the book is good, the movie will bomb one way or another. I am looking forward to the movie, overly excited about it in fact, but then I am realistic in my expectations. Since Summit Productions is a small movie outfit and they said the cost of the movie amounted to $34M only, I am opening my mind to the possibility that they might have not given it all. Actually, I have read the reviews already and the critics said that it was disappointing. I doubt it would be for a die hard (Twihard) fan like me! Just lessen your expectations of it and you will benefit from that open mind.

  • And please, Rob Pattinson as Edward Cullen is perfect! He is totally hot!

I am really back!

Yes, I previously said that I was back but was MIA again for several days after that. Blame Rob Pattinson and Twilight! I am soooo hooked that I spend free minutes viewing interviews, photos, and other Twilight-related or Rob-related articles instead of writing in this blog of mine. More on Rob and Twilight on my next posts…

Anyway, so I AM REALLY BACK! No kidding! Expect more from The Couch Potato in the next few days.

MIA and an award!

I have been MIA for the past few days because I was kinda sick. But during those days I was MIA, I have reading entertainment sites and watching entertainment news a lot. I have so many news to tell you all but I have to post something first…

The Modern Mom has given me an award and I would like to acknowledge it.

“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

Thank you so much, Modern Mom!

Yes He Can!

It was a historic win for US President-elect Barack Obama. He is the first African-American to hold the highest office in the US government. What a feat! Hats off to you, Mr. Obama! I do hope that now the change that the American people have been clamoring for would soon start to happen.

Congratulations, Mr. President!
